It’s been long rumoured, and the day has finally come for CFC100 defensive end Mathieu Betts out of Laval, who signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears.
Betts was in a class of his own in U Sports becoming the first player to win the J.P Metras Award for top down lineman three times, and is also the proud owner of two Vanier Cup rings. He finishes his four year career at Laval with 35.5 sacks, 74.5 total tackles and 44.5 tackles for loss, making him the new RSEQ record holder for career sacks. The gaudy numbers led to attention down south with an invite to the East-West Shrine Game in Florida, and five NFL teams showed up to his pro day at Laval.
