#CFC50 2016 high school RANKINGS (5): 4 newcomers on, 2 off, and 1 new to the top 10

For the seventh year in a row, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) is pleased to bring you the national high school football rankings known as the #CFC50. The #CFC50 rankings considers all conference and non-conference games (in Canada and the United States) while scrimmages are not evaluated (there is no such thing as an exhibition game – those are non-conference games).

How is the #CFC50 evaluated?

Leagues included in rankings: British Columbia AAA Varsity, Alberta Tier One, Saskatchewan 12-man 4A, Manitoba AAA Varsity, Ontario OFSAA Bowl AAA qualified teams, Quebec Juvenile Division 1, New Brunswick 12-man, Nova Scotia Tier 1.  The #CFC50 is a relative ranking that considers top tier leagues from all eight high school playing provinces (minimum one team represented from each province).  The CFC Scouting Bureau consists of twenty-seven CFC Reporters, CFC Scouts, and also selected local reporters and scouts who submit local ranking results on a weekly basis. The CFC50 is released every Monday (other than on Holidays) at 12 noon.

No. 1 St. Francis Browns – The Browns remain undefeated and in the top spot for another week with their 43-0 win with what could be their biggest test of the regular season coming up against Notre Dame.

No. 2 W.F. Herman Green Griffins – Herman holds on with a 38-0 versus Kennedy. Next up, Villanova.

No. 3 Bev Facey Falcons – Facey continues to dominate in the North, no doubt on a collision course with the No. 1 St. Francis Browns.

No. 4 Leboldus Golden Suns – Let’s be honest, the Suns have the keys to the city in Regina and will look to lock out the O’Neill Titans next week.

No. 5 A. N. Myer Marauders – Sticking at 5th spot for another week with their win over the Westlane Spartans.

No. 6 Séminaire Saint-François Blizzard – The Blizzard stay frozen at 6th spot and will look to keep moving up each week. They play the Académie les Estacades next weekend.

No. 7 Huron Heights Warriors – Status quo for the Warriors.

No. 8 Mount Douglas Rams – The Rams had a well deserved bye this past week and will be ready to face up against Belmont coming up at home.

No. 9 Cardinal Newman Cardinals – Newman also had a bye and will be well rested to continue their climb in the standings.

No. 10 St. Paul’s Crusaders – The Crusaders continue to win by 30+ points with the exception of week 1. With this level of play, they deserve to be in the top 10.
