….and now let’s get to it with this week’sĀ #CFC50Ā Games of the Week PREVIEW

No. 8 Terry Fox Ravens (6-0, 0-2)
Centennial (5-1)
Friday, Nov. 4 @ 7:00pm, Percy Perry Stadium
The Terry Fox Ravens once again dominated another BC opponent last week with a 40-6 win over Lord Tweedsmuir. This week they will go up against a 5-1 team in the Centennial Centaurs. The Centaurs soundly beat their opponent as well last week with a 39-7 win over Kelowna. Both teams have some notable athletes, however, if Centennial wants to get ahead of this train, they will have to find a way to shut down #CFC100 RB Jeremie Kankolongo who has been tearing apart the turf all season. We think they can do it though, as the Centaurs also boast one of the top DB’s in western Canada in #CFC100 Keon Fuoco. It will be a good game overall and one that will give the Ravens a bit more to chew off then they have had all season.

No. 17 New Westminster Hyacks (4-1, 2-1)
No. 48 South Delta Sun Devils (3-2, 2-0)
Saturday, Nov. 5 @ 12:30pm, South Delta
The Hyacks are coming off another win this past weekend against Belmont 34-21. They will take on the South Delta Sun Devils in the regular season finale with massive playoff implications and seeding on the line. South Delta is finally health and proving to be one of the top teams in the province. They, too, are coming off a massive win, 36-13 against another top team in BC in the Mount Douglas Rams. The Hyacks will have to contain QB Michael Calvert who is a dual threat quarterback and can hurt you through the air or on the ground as witnessed in last week’s game. The Sun Devils front seven will have its hands full as they try and stop New West’s vaunted Wing-T. Can New West continue is winning roll? If South Delta wins this one and the Jugglers lose, there could be potentially be a 5-way tie in the AAA Western Conference. A New West victory and a Notre Dame Jugglers loss will give the Hyacks its first regular season title in school history.

No. 32 Notre Dame Jugglers (3-1, 2-1)
No. 33 Vancouver College Fighting Irish (3-2, 2-1)
Friday, Nov. 4 @ 7:30pm, Burnaby Lakes
The Fighting Irish are coming off their bye and will be running on fresh legs. This season has been more of a challenge for them then in previous years as all teams in the AAA Western Conference have stepped up their game. The Notre Dame Jugglers are no different. The Jugglers beat Carson Graham last week with a 24-14 win. QB Steve Moretto is healthy and a force to be reckoned with as he can run and pass up a storm to rack up the points on the scoreboard. The Irish will have to contain him and Mathew Mannetta. We think this will be another close game.

No. 50 Mount Douglas Rams (3-2, 3-0)
Carson Graham (0-5)
Friday, Nov. 4 @ 2:00pm, Carson Graham
Mount Doug is breathing a sigh of relief as they finish off their regular season against the 0-5 Carson Graham. We have to mention that this was Carson Graham’s first season in the AAA Western Conference and while they are currently winless, they did win the AA Provincial Championship last year. It will take them some time to get up to speed as they are playing in the hardest conference in AAA in BC. That all being said, they are getting heavily banged up Rams team who is also smarting from back to back losses. They won’t be wanting another. The Rams will still be without their pivot, Gideone Kremler so we will have to see have this games shapes up with that in mind. We think both teams are just wanting this regular season to be over so that they can re-group and switch to playoff mode.
