#CFC50 High School Rankings (2): Losses pile up, top teams look unbeatable

For the sixthĀ year in a row, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) is pleased to bring you the national high school football rankings known as theĀ #CFC50.

Big top 10 battle this week in Montreal as the CFC#6Ā CollĆØge Notre-Dame Cactus host CFC#4Ā CurĆ©-Antoine-Labelle Wolves in Quebec Juvenile Division 1 action. Ā Game time is 7:30 atĀ CollĆØge Notre-Dame.

Some top teams in Ontario this week play off in non-conference games as St. Andrew’s College Saints (#CFC10 Non-Public) host CFC#26 Huron Heights Warriors. Ā The Saints are coming off controlledĀ scrimmage versusĀ St. Joan of Arc.

TOP 10:

#1Ā Notre Dame Pride (CALGARY) Ā 1-0 ex. Ā – Played #CFC50 Raymond Comets and crushed them to a tune of 64-7. Ā The Pride are always tough. Ā Next up for CFC#1 is Henry Wise Wood in first game of Calgary Division 1 schedule.

#2 South Delta Sun Devils (South Delta, BC)Ā 1-0 NC Ā –Ā Defeated Hugh Boyd 46-13. Ā QBĀ Kyle Chace went 8 for 17 for 175 yards and two touchdowns, one to receiver Michael Mann, who also returned a kick-off 80 yards for a score.

#3Ā St. Francis Browns (CALGARY)Ā 0-0 –Ā ShutoutĀ Ernest Manning 44-0. Ā Play California team Escondido Charter this week.

#4 Ā CurĆ©-Antoine-Labelle WolvesĀ (LAVAL, QC)Ā 3-0 –Ā Defeated #CFC22 Saint Jean EudesĀ 26-19. Ā Huge game this week as the Wolves visit CFC#7 Cactus. Ā Game is Friday in downtown Montreal 7:30 atĀ CollĆØge Notre-Dame.

#5 St. Paul Crusaders (WINNIPEG, MB) 1-0 –Ā Held off #CFC20 Vincent Massey by a 13-7 score. Ā Remis Tshiovo led the way on the ground with 134 yards on 17 carries. Ā QBĀ Tommy Semchyshyn will have to clean up the interceptions for this team to win in November.

#6 W.F. Herman Green Griffins (WINDSOR, ON) 0-0 – Coach Harry Lumley is a legend of Ontario high school football and deserves lots of credit for producing a top program year in and year out. Ā Will this be the year the Green Griffins finish on top? Ā #CFC100Ā Jalen Jackson and teammates are ready for the challenge.

#7 Ā CollĆØge Notre-Dame Cactus (Montreal) 2-0 –Ā DefeatedĀ Roger ComtoisĀ 52-0. Ā Huge game this week as the Cactus host CFC#4 Wolves. Ā Game is Friday in downtown Montreal 7:30 atĀ CollĆØge Notre-Dame.

#8 Ā A.B. Lucas Vikings (London, ON) 0-0 –Ā Surprise in London as fiery coach Michael HayesĀ citing the need for family time, stepped away from the role for a year. Ā They still have a core of great talent, but the sidelines were a bit barren.

#9 Leboldus Golden Suns (Regina)Ā FINALĀ 1-0 – Beat Riffel 49-6.

#10 Ā Terry Fox Ravens (Port Coquitlam, BC) 1-0 NC – Jeremie Kankolongo had an outstanding first game scoring on a ‘pick 6’ 65-yard return and then soon after on a two-yard run as the Ravens held off the CFC#21 Vancouver College Fighting Irish 15-7. Ā The defense played well totaling three interceptions on the day.

How is the #CFC50 evaluated?

The #CFC50 is a relative ranking that considers top tier leagues (listed below) from all eight high school playing provinces (minimum one team represented from each province).Ā  The CFC Scouting Bureau consists of twenty-four CFC Reporters, CFC Scouts, and also selected local reporters and scouts who submit local ranking results on a weekly basis.Ā  This is the sixth year that Canadafootballchat.com has ranked the top high school teams in Canada.

Leagues included in rankings: British Columbia AAA Varsity, Alberta Tier One, Saskatchewan 12-man 4A, Manitoba AAA Varsity, Ontario OFSAA Bowl AAA qualified teams, Quebec Juvenile Division 1, New Brunswick 12-man, Nova Scotia Tier 1

Non-PublicĀ schools will be considered in their own rankings (new 2015).
