CFCFPC Hamilton (Offence): Minor top performers

Winning the game MVP award for defense, offense, or overall is a goal that most athletes aim for, but most do not ever get. However, that’s not to say that there isn’t some stellar performances by individual athletes that work to get the win at the end of the day. Here are some of the noteworthy and top performers for the minor offensive players at the #CFCFPC Hamilton weekend.

Cleveland
Plenty of young guns from Cleveland came prepared with their A game over the course of their two day stay in Hamilton, and they certainly deserve a lot respect for the determined display they put forth at Tim Hortons Field.

In their first win over the West, it was one long touchdown run after another that eventually forced their opponents into submission. Arvelle Reese got the ball rolling with a 58 yard run, which was then followed up by Kyler Wiggins who took a shorter route to the end zone on a 32 yard run. It then came time for the longest race of the day which consisted of Kai White sprinting 88 yards to paydirt to end off an explosive first quarter. Things slowed to a normal pace until Tanelle Rose took his turn on a 66 yard major that resulted in a 25-0 lead heading into halftime.

In the second half is was Brian Sullivan who opted for a quarterback sneak in order to get his touchdown, while the Overall MVP Jermaine Foster mimicked the various runs we had already seen with a 70 yard run to the end zone. The scoring rout was capped off by Bryce West and Hosea Steele, who inflicted the final blow on yet another marathon 51 yard touchdown run.

On the second day it was many of the same stars who took over in their game against Halton-Peel, but this time it was Steele who received the Overall MVP honours for his two touchdowns receptions from Sullivan that spanned 81 yards.

Central and Halton-Peel
Simply put, it wasn’t either offences day when they took the field with Cleveland, but as always there were a few standouts who deserve a nod for gutting out some gritty performances.

Alistair McNair was the most noticeable on both day, rushing his way to the Offensive MVP honours in the first game with his hard nosed running style that earned the respect of his opponents. Quintin Santos also stood out with a couple nice carries, while quarterback D.J Fonti showed off a few moved when he scrambled out of the pocket.

For Central on day two it was Nicholas Rasile who had an accurate day going 5/8, with four of those targets heading in Lewc Rayner’s direction for 22 yards.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
