#CFCOPC16 RECAP (Sophomore): Iloki unstoppable in Team East win over Team Halton-Peel [stats]

On Saturday evening at Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton, Honoreal Iloki scored three touchdowns as Team East got past Team Halton-Peel 30-8 in the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) Sophomore battle.

Iloki got Team East out to a quick 14-0 lead in the first quarter as he connected with pivot James Keenan for nine yard and 70 yard touchdown receptions.

Then, Team Halton-Peel responded as quarterback Austin Reid found Ethan Bastarache for a 45 yard major in the second quarter.

At halftime, Team East held on to a 14-8 lead after conceding a safety to Team Halton-Peel.

However, that would be all the point Team Halton-Peel would score during the game.

Doug Mayhew snuck into the end zone for a one yard touchdown to strengthen Team East’s lead 21-8. Iloki rounded out the scoring early in the fourth quarter as he sprinted down the field for a 31 yard score.

Iloki had 114 receiving yards on six receptions during the game. Ā Keenan completed eight passes in 10 attempts for 175 yards and two passing touchdowns. Ā Hayden Tripp rushed for 57 yards on seven carries.

As for Team Halton-Peel, Bastarache racked up 98 yards on four receptions.

For his exceptional play, Iloki was named Big Kahuna Sport Company Game MVP. Ā Additionally, Keenan was chosen as Spalding Offensive Player of the Game and Team Halton-Peel defensvie back Andy Melo grabbed Russell Athletics Defensive Player of the Game.
