#CFCOPC16 RECAP (Sophomore): Smith propels Team Central past Team West

On Saturday morning at Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton, Team Central scored 21 unanswered points en route to a 48-35 victory over Team West in the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) Sophomore game.

At halftime, Team Central held a 33-21 advantage over Team West.

Team Central amassed 204 rushing yards on 24 carries whereas Team West had 81 yards on 21 carries.  However, Team West led in total passing yards with 355 while Team Central had 264 yards.

Each team had 19 first downs.  Team Central turned over the ball four times on downs while Team West did so three times.

Kiondre Smith, receiver for Team Central was named Big Kahuna Sports Company Game MVP.  Meeanwhile, Team Central running back Adre Simmonds was chosen as Spalding Offensive Player of the Game while Team Central defensive back Aiden Alli was Russell Athletics’ Defensive Player of the Game.
