On Saturday night at Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton, Shamond Carlisle rushed for 52 yards on nine carries as Team East earned a 12-0 shutout win over Team Halton-Peel in their Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) game.
In a low scoring affair, Alex Douglas got Team East on the scoreboard in the second quarter as he was successful on a 23 yards field goal.

Douglas would strengthen Team East’s narrow lead in the third quarter as he booted a 13 yard field goal.
Team East would solidify the victory in the final frame as pivot Jack Zergiotis connected with Roberto Jiminez Bojorquez for the lone touchdown of the game – a 13 yard score.
Zegiotis completed 14 passes in 29 attempts for 142 yards and a passing touchdown. Ā Team Halton-Peel’s Alex Lavric completred 11 passes in 15 attempts for 124 yards.

Penalties costed Team Halton-Peel as they racked up 20 which resulted in 204 yards lost in the game as opposed to Team East’s seven penalites for 55 yards.
Team East had 19 first downs as opposed to Team Halton-Peel’s 11. Ā As for turnovers on downs, Team East had three while Team Halton-Peel only had one.
Carlisle was named Big Kahuna Sports Company Game MVP. Ā Moreover, Team Halton-Peel receiver Nicholas Mardner who had 55 yards on four receptions was selected as Spalding Offensive Player of the Game while Team East linebacker Patrick Madore was Russell Athletics Defensive Player of the Game.
