#CFCSHSFB PREVIEW (ONT – DURHAM): Titans look to avenge blowout losses to CFC#50Trojans

Last season, the Holy Trinity Titans and CFC#50 Pickering Trojans met in what was billed as a great matchup in Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (LOSSAA) as both teams were closely matched on the stat sheet and wanted a shot at first place.

The Titansm anticipating a great game, even staged a buyout to create a rowdy atmosphere for the visiting Trojans. The result of this major game?

The Titans were blanked, giving up over 30 points, only to score six after that game was well in the hand of the visiting Trojans.

Afterwards, the two sides met again in the playoffs, Holy Trinity obviously hoping to prove that he blowout was a one off, and that they were the better team. In short, the Titans were not the better team, they trailed 28-0 at halftime and their fortunes did not change after the break,Pickering romped them, not once, but twice, and deservedly so.

This Thursday the two sides meet again for the fifth time in 3 seasons, and the Titans will again look to avenge a blowout, or blowouts in this case. The Titan offense, led by reigning LOSSA MVP Nathan Jones rebounded slightly last week, putting up 28 points in a win agaisnt their rivals Donald A. Wilson. In order for the Titans to come out victorious, this upward trajectory must continue.

As for the Trojans, they gashed a helpless Titans defense on the ground in both their wins. Look for them to do much the same. The Titans defense has looked much improved agaisnt the run, yet they have not played an opponent of the quality of the LOSSA finalists from a year ago. This matchup will be the most interesting, as it is the most pivotal matchup in the game.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
