Class 2017 prospect nets eighth NCAA Division 1 offer (VIDEO)

It is up to eight now for Luiji Vilain.

Yesterday afternoon on twitter, Gridiron Academy’s Victor Tedondo announced that Class 2017 prospect Luiji Vilain received his eighth offer from NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team, Tennessee Vols:

In addition to the Vols, the 6’4, 235 pound defensive end from Ottawa, OntarioΒ  also has offers on the table from Wisconsin Badgers, Virginia Cavaliers, Penn State Nittany Lions, Syracuse Orange, Minnesota Gophers, South Florida Bulls and Rutgers Scarlet Knights (future home of #CFC100 top ranked Patrice Rene)

Earlier this week, Vilain offered in an interview with Scout.com’s Scott Hellman that four schools are being very tenacious in their recruitment efforts – Penn State, Wisconsin, Rutgers and Syracuse.

In August, the Ottawa defensive standout offered insight as to when and how the announcement surrounding his decision will unfold.

β€œIt feels great to be given these offers by…great schools,” commented Villain.Β  β€œI plan on committing next year, the same day as Jonathan Sutherland (fellow Gridiron Academy attendee and Class 2017 recruit).”

This summer, Villain has attended several events including Michigan’s Sound Mind Sound Body Camp and Ohio State’s Friday Night Lights Camp.

Currently, the defensive end plays alongside Rene at Alexandria’s Episcopal Maroon.

Other teams Vilain has suited up for north of the border include Cumberland Panthers of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and South Gloucester Giants of the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA).
