Cougar Varsity look to bounce back vs Brampton Bulldogs on Sunday.

Cougars 0 Sarnia 21

Defensively we played very well with contributions from many.. Ben Church paced our defense with 15 tackles while Brennan Normandin-Kerr contributed with 11 tackles. Trevon Smith and Adyen Rioux each had solid games recording 10 tackles each. Chase Johnstone had a solid game along the D line recording 7 tackles. Kaden Jefferson recorded an INT to go with 5 tackles from the Safety position. It was a great effort from the defense and its exciting to witness this group get better each week.

Special Teams was another bright spot this week with Ashton Vink remaining solid in our kicking game. Brennan Normandin-Kerr remained consistent in the punting game as well.

Offensively we struggled with the throwing the ball. Although TE Gabe VanMoorsel had another solid game with 2 receptions. One bright spot was our run game. As a team we finished with a total of 188 yards on the ground on 24 attempts. Jaxon Henderson had a solid game on the ground rushing (10 for 55 yards) As well as Ben Church (4 for 36 yards) and Brennan Normandin-Kerr (4 for 87 yards).

Offensively we need to be better and the coaching staff and the players understand this! We need to execute and that is the one hurdle we need to overcome! But I know one thing is certain these players will continue to work hard.

Peewee Cougars rebounded with a win in tough playing conditions, beating the Brantford Bisons 33-12.

Caleb Roberts scored on running plays of 45 & 63 yards while CJ Roberts scored on runs of 5 & 53yards.  QB Sawyer Emmott connected with Jayden Baylis on a 33 yard passing TD.  Reed Larson kicked 3 PAT’s.

Skyler Mattia led the defensive line putting pressure on Brantford QB all game with Larson, Tezmond Hadden & Baylis all collecting interceptions.  Conor Graham and Tayeshawn Hadden each added 6 tackles.

Cougars look to use this momentum as they travel to the Brampton Bulldogs this week.
