JV Cougars take the lead in the second half

Junior Varsity

“Had a slow start in the first half losing 7-1 at the half.  But loved how our players responded in the 2^nd taking the lead and not looking back.  We could really feel the energy from the crowd.  We will need that energy this Sunday at 7pm as we play the Sault Ste Marie who beat us earlier in the season,” said Selwyn Jordan the Head Coach.

Logan Stefina had an interception for a TD
Liam Wellman was 5/6 XPts and had 2 points kicking the ball through the endzone twice.

Tanner Hoorelbeck had an amazing defensive performance with 12 tackles, an INT, and some bone crushing hits on special teams.

Trevor Lawton and Logan Stefina both had  7 tackles
Dylan Butler and Dante Handsor both had 4 tackles at DLine

JV Chatham Cougars will be playing at home on Sunday Aug 5 at 7pm at CKSS Main field against Sault Ste Marie Sabercats.   The Sault beat the Cougars in the regular season.

 

Bantam – 28-14

“We kept he game close like we had hoped early on against Brantford’s power run game, but we just missed some opportunities to put points on the board to match them.  It was a game of missed chances.  Overall, it was a valiant effort this season from all the players and should leave the future Cougars next year in a good spot to succeed.  Our staff is proud of all them,” said Andrew Stewart the Head Coach.
