Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (Central): QB/RB Stephens wants to be visible to universities

Carter Stephens has been playing football for the past four years.

He began as a cornerback with the Belleville Minor Ball (BMB) Saints, before switching to quarterback.

During his three years in the BMB, he was awarded a Game MVP, 2016 league Offensive Player of the Year and got a league record of five touchdown passes in one game.

Currently, the quarterback plays for the Quinte Saints in the Central Ontario Secondary Schools Athletics (COSSA), where they won the AA championship last year.

The Saint has goals for this year’s Fox 40 Prospect Challenge. He wants to play at a high level, to receive high level coaching, and make himself visible to university recruiters.

“I want to be among the best,” said Carter.

During the offseason, he does winter training with his team two days a week doing strength, cardio and passing. He also meets with a private quarterback coach regularly and does weight training after school two to three days per week.

On the field, his biggest idol is Drew Brees because “he’s the best.”

“I love the game, I love the feeling when the pressure is on, I love to win,” explained Carter, “I literally sleep with a football.”
