Concussions have become the most taboo injuries an athlete, or anyone really, can suffer from, and Graeme Heighway suffered from one last season. But, despite the injury, Heighway is ready to take the field.
The injury has not halted the young quarterbackās mindset for the CFCFPC, āmy goals for the CFCFPC are to start for the Central varsity team as well as making the top 100,ā says Graeme Heighway.
The young quarterback is currently playing for the Peterborough Wolverines. He dedicated this past offseason to nutrition and training to become bigger, faster, stronger, āIāve been training everyday and eating clean,ā says Heighway.
His offseason training regimen paid off as he āmanaged to gain a lot of weight and cut it down to get bigger and faster,ā says Heighway.
He also spent a lot of time working on quarterback specific drills, in order to improve his arm to become a better player. Part of those quarterback specific drills also included āstudying playbooks, working out his arm, and reads,ā says Heighway.
Built with a tall lengthy body, but not stout, Heighway stands at 6ā4āā and 180 pounds, but still enjoys the physicality of the game, āI really enjoy being able to hit in a sport,ā says Heighway.
His idol is none other than the University of Louisville phenomena, Lamar Jackson. Jackson shocked the NCAA football world this year with his personal prowess and huge performances (against Florida State, and at Clemson).
Much like his idol, Heighway is ready to dominate with a good showing āat the top 100,ā concludes the young quarterback.
