Philip Jeffs began his football journey five years ago with the Trent Hills Titans.

Since then he has also play in the Ontario Football Conference with the Peterborough Wolverines, with Campbell District High School and with Holy Cross.

Philip loves to play football because of, “the rush it gives when you can make a strong tackle or running play.”

“I want to make my ‘hometown’ proud,” added Philip.

During his career, the left tackle won Rookie of the Year for the Trent Hills Titans in 2014, as well as the Belleville Minor Football League championship.

Philip won another Belleville Minor Football League Championship in 2016, along with Lineman of the Year.

That year, he was also awarded the junior boys MVP award Campbellford District High School.

This year, Philip and the Wolverines won the OFC championship, as well as the OFC Ramsay Conference championship.

In his positions, he likes the ability to impact his team and feels that his strong knowledge of the game and plays give him an edge.

During the offseason, Philip plays multiple sports, such as basketball and hockey, which help him with some of the quit footwork needed in football. He also goes to the gym four to five times a week to work on strength and conditioning.

In addition, the Wolverine watches plays on YouTube to help expand his knowledge of the sport.

Philip is participating in this year’s Fox 40 Prospect Challenge where his goals are to make new friends, get noticed by football recruits and make the team.

“You don’t always have the best opportunities, but you need to capitalize on every opportunity you are given,” commented Philip.

Moreover, on the field, his role model is Joe Thomas.

“Joe was drafted to the Cleveland Browns, who didn’t win a lot of games, but he persevered and stuck with the team through thick and thin,” said Philip. “He never gave up.”
