Grenadiers host playoff game this weekend

(Wednesday, July 19, 2017) – Grenadiers host playoff game this weekend

Kingston, ON – After finishing the regular season in second place, the Grenadiers senior varsity team will host the third place Durham Dolphins for the first playoff game in the Ontario Provincial Football League (OPFL).

“We met the Dolphins early in the season. I know both teams have changed significantly over the past two months but we’ve reviewed their game film and will be relying on our offence to put points on the board,” says senior varsity coach Mark Magee. “Our defence has been playing well and I don’t expect that will change this weekend.”

The game kicks off at 1 p.m. this Saturday, July 22 at Richardson Stadium.

Adult admission is $6, students and seniors $4 and children under 12 are free. And there is plenty of free parking. Purchase tickets at the box office on game day or online anytime at: http://queens.universitytickets.com/user_pages/event_listings.asp

“Our fans keep telling us that they love the game-day atmosphere at Richardson Stadium and that will only intensify during the playoffs,” says Alexandra Reyes-Walsh, executive director. “Unfortunately the junior GMen did not advance to the playoffs but they will be in the stands adding to the roar of the crowd on Saturday.”

The Grenadiers plan to advance to the conference finals the following weekend before hosting the OPFL’s inaugural premier league championship finals on Sunday, August 6 at Richardson Stadium.
