HAMILTON RECAPS:
OFC BANTAM SOUTH
The Cats are keeping pace with the Burlington Stampeders at 5-0 after prevailing 28-14 over the Sarnia Sturgeon.Β Brayden Kelly led Hamilton with scoring on a pair of 6 yard runs while Juwuan Smith ran in from 10 yards out and Owen Vernon and Rexton Harper hooked up for a 32 yard pass and run.Β Sebastien Mella was successful on his 4 convert attempts.Β Sturgeon pivot Avery Smiley scored on an 11 yard run and hooked up with Austin West for a 25 yard score.Β Aiden Wilfong ran in for a 2 point convert to complete the Sarnia scoring.Β With the setback, Sarnia drops to 2-3.
OFC BANTAM NORTH
The Bantam North squad improved to 3-1 which puts them in 2nd place in the North Division after their 38-0 at the Toronto Jr. Argos.Β Mason Isowa ran in for a pair of scores while other Cats majors were scored by Jeremy Hicks, Carter Miscione and Billy Nguyen.Β J P Sardo booted 3 converts and the defence forced two safety touches.Β The Jr. Argos dropped to 0-4.
OMFL
The Jr. Varsity OMFL entry saw their record drop to 1-4 after a 28-6 defeat at the Niagara Spears.Β Game details are not available.Β The Bantam OMFL unit had the weekend off.
All squads will be in action this coming long weekend.Β The OMFL Bantams will be at North Bay on Saturday kicking off at 1:00 p.m. while Junior Varsity go to take on Cambridge kicking off at noon. Β The OFC teams host on Sunday July 3rd with Bantam South hosting Vaughan Rebels at 10:00 am. Bantam South hosting Brantford at 1:00 pm, Jr. Varsity versus Vaughan at 4:00 pm and Varsity taking on Vaughan at 7:00 pm.Β All games go at Ron Joyce Stadium.
BURLINGTON RECAPS:
BANTAM
A 44-0 shut out at Guelph allowed the Bantam squad to remain unbeaten as they remain tied with Hamilton South for top spot.Β Sito Tomas Berrio led the Stamps with two touchdowns and a 2 point convert.Β Liam Keary also had two majors while Jorden Gallant and James Priestner also crossed the goal line.Β Ved Hatolkar booted 4 converts and the defence forced a safety touch.Β The Stamps and Hamilton South both sit atop the division at 5-0 while the Gryphons move to 0-5 with the loss.
PEE WEE
Abdul Abdelaziz and Hadyn Eley scored for the Stampeders, but, it was not enough as the Pee Wee unit were defeated 24-12 at Chatham Kent.Β Koren Stewart scored twice for the winners with single majors recorded by Nobel Stonefish and Evan Cole Van Koot.Β With the setback, Stamps drop to 2-3 on the season while the Cougars moved into a tie for 2nd place at 4-1.
