Hamilton & Burlington Bantam, Peewee Recaps

BURLINGTON:

BANTAM

It was Liam Keary day for the Bantam Stamps as they downed Twin Cities 42-14 to keep pace with Hamilton atop the South Division at 4-0.  Keary latched onto passes from pivot Keegan Hall of 62, 62, 85 and 31 yards to pace the victors.  Hall also hooked up with Jackson Cooling on a 59 yard strike with Hayden Banks returned a fumble 5 yards for a score.  Ved Hatolkar was good on all 6 of his convert attempts.  Preds scored on a 71 yard pass and run from Callum Wither to Tyler Putzu and Niko Jean Gaston had a 2 yard scoring run.  Anthony Venneri converted both scores for the Preds who saw their record slip to 1-3.

PEE WEE

Abdul Abdelaziz led the Pee Wee squad to a 44-16 win over the Oakville Titans that saw the Stamps mark improve to 2-2.  Ableaziz had three touchdowns and a 2 point convert while Nicholas Canapini also crossed the goal line 3 times.  Ryan Smith added the other major for the Stampeders.  Chris Johnston led Oakville with a touchdown and a 2 point convert while Pascal Jordan scored Titans other major and Connor MacKinnon added a 2 point convert as Oakville moved to 1-3 in the standings.

All four teams continue action this coming weekend.  On Saturday (June 25^th), Bantam, Junior Varsity and Varsity will travel up Highway 6 to take on the Guelph Jr. Gryphons.  All games are at Alumni Stadium at the University of Guelph starting with Bantam kicking off at 11:30 am, Junior Varsity at 2:30 pm and Varsity at 6:00 pm.  On Sunday (June 26^th), the Pee Wees will trek down the 401 to take on the 3-1 Chatham Kent Cougars kicking off at noon.

HAMILTON:

OFC BANTAM SOUTH

The Cats kept their record unblemished at 4-0 as they overwhelmed the first year Guelph Bantams 70-7.  Quinn McGregor led the way with 4 touchdowns while Brayden Kelly and Cody Hutchinson had 2 majors apiece.  Cody MacNamara and Brock Procee Goeree also crossed the goal line as well.  Sebastien Mella was 8 of 10 on his convert attempts and the defence forced a safety touch.  Alex Male score the and converted the lone Gryphons major as Guelph remains winless at 0-4.

OFC BANTAM NORTH

Enjoyed a bye this past weekend.

OMFL

Again another difficult weekend for both Hamilton OMFL teams.  The Bantam squad saw Jacob Horncastle score on runs of 1 and 12 yards plus run in for a 2 point convert, but, it was not enough as they succumbed to the Orangeville Outlaws 45-14.  Outlaws were led by Brendon Barrow who ran in from 33, 61 and 87 yards for the victors.  Nathan Falconi added scoring runs of 8 and 87 yards plus returned an interception 55 yards and passed to Aiden Murray from 4 yards away.  Falconi also booted a convert and ran in for 2 point convert as well.  The Outlaws improved to 4-0 while Hamilton drops to 1-4.  The Junior Varsity OMFL unit were shut out for the second consecutive week 40-0 at Orangeville.  Game details are not available.  Orangeville remains undefeated at 5-0 while Hamilton drops to 1-3.

 

Action continues this coming weekend with the OFC Bantam South and Junior Varsity South teams hosting Sarnia on June 25^th at Ron Joyce Stadium kicking off at 1:00 and 4:00 pm.  OFC Varsity South will host the Chatham Kent Cougars also at Ron Joyce Stadium starting at 7:00 pm.  The OFC Bantam North lads will bus to St. Michael’s College on June 26^th at 11:00 am to take on the Junior Argos.  The OMFL Junior Varsity team will be in St. Catharines on June 25^th at 4:00 pm to face the Niagara Spears while the OMFL Bantam team will have a bye.
