St. Francis Xavier, EDM (17), McNally (7)

This game would be a slow starter with only three points going on the board in the first half. St. Francis (3-3) would have those points on their way to a 17-7 victory over McNally (4-2) this past weekend.

McNally would get their only touchdown in the third quarter while StFX would score another 14 to finish the game.

St. Albert (42), Eastglen (0)

St. Albert would put up 14 points over Eastglen (0-6) in the first quarter of play on their way to a 42-0 shutout win this past weekend.

The 4-2 St. Albert team would bring it to 21-0 going into the half. They would add another seven points in the third quarter and 14 more in the fourth.

Archbishop Jordan (17), Leduc (21)

Leduc (2-4) would be in the driver’s seat of this one for 3 quarters until they almost blew their lead in the third quarter when the Scots (0-6) seem to come alive and put up ten points.

The Tigers would score a touchdown in each quarter save the fourth. At the half it was 14-0 for Leduc. The Scots would come out of halftime with some motivation as they would bring the score to 10-21 in the third. They would attempt the takeover in the fourth with seven more points, but it would not be enough in the end to come out with the W.

Leduc took this one, 21-17, over Archbishop Jordan.

Strathcona (54), Archbishop O’Leary (13)

At 6-0, the Strathcona Lords beat out Archbishop O’Leary (4-2) with a 54-13 win on the weekend, setting them up for the quarter finals that were played on the 23rd against Ardrossan (which we have learned they won 41-1). In this game, however, it was all Scona.

They would be up 17-0 at the end of the first quarter and 31-0 at the end of the half. O’Leary would seem to wake up and score their only 13 points of the game in the third quarter, but the Lords would also add another 7. The fourth quarter saw Strathcona finish the game with another 16 points with a final score of 54-13 for the Lords.

Scona’s Isaac Hurtaud would complete 2/5 for 40 yards passing and 1 passing touchdown. He would also rush for 97 yards on 9 carries and 3 rushing touchdowns. Let’s just say, we think this kid can burn you on the ground if the passing game isn’t going anywhere.

“I think our team played good! The weather was obviously a big factor, and it shows that our team is balanced in how we were able to lean on our run game,” said Hurtaud when we asked him how he thought his team played. “Also, our defense stepped up with stops and turnovers.”

Adner St. Hilaire would have 82 yards on 2 carries and 1 rushing touchdown. Caden Van Bavel would have 1 catch for 40 yards as well as 43 yards rushing on 7 carries. Defensively, Trey Irwin would get 2 interceptions on the night.

O’Leary’s running back Kevin Mwamba would carry 11 times for 38 yards and 1 rushing touchdown and teammate, Matt Perri would have 3 carries on 15 yards and the other rushing touchdown on the night. The big highlight in this game was on the defense which saw Michael Lembryk register 13 tackles and 1 sack! Teammate Anthony Villalta would have 11 tackles, Dhanoo Harrison would have 2 sacks on the night.

“I think for us to continue in the playoffs we need to just play at the level we know we can passing and running, and on defense. I am looking forward to the intensity picking up in playoff games and the chance to play in Commonwealth Stadium,” finished Hurtaud.

Paul Kane (45), Ardrossan (0)

Paul Kane (5-1) would triumph over 2-4 Ardrossan this past weekend, 45-0.

The scoring summary would be as follows; 1st quarter – 8 points, 2nd quarter – 18 points, 3rd quarter – 8 points, and 4th quarter – 11 points. This would bring us to the 45-0 final score.

WP Wagner (19), Beaumont (51)

This game would be tied, 7-7, at the end of the first half, but that’s where all similarities ended as Beaumont (3-0) would storm ahead and beat WP Wagner (1-3), 51-19, this past weekend.

Beaumont would score a whopping 27 points in the second quarter going into the half, 34-7. Wagner still wouldn’t be able to get any points up in the third quarter, but Beaumont would – another 17 to be exact. Wagner would be the only one’s getting it done in the fourth as they would get another 12 points, but there wouldn’t be enough time. Beaumont had already done their damage, taking it 51-19.

Austin O’Brien (16), Salisbury (19)

The Salisbury Sabres (5-2) would be victorious with a 19-16 win over the AOB Crusaders (4-3) this past weekend.

While the Sabres would get off to a quick start with a 10-0 lead from Ian McCullough, the Crusaders wouldn’t let them out of their sight and would lead 16-0 going into the half.

Backup quarterback, Kaleb Fehr, for the Sabres would get a touchdown to bring the score to 18-16. They would add a safety on top for the final 19-16 score.

Defensively, Jacob Taylor has been phenomenal all year while the offensive line gave their offensive game plan the ability to be executed.

The Sabres will go on to play CFC50 ranked Bellerose in the Metro Edmonton League’s Tier 1 Carr Conference semi-finals on Friday at 7:30pm at Clarke Stadium. The winning team will advance to the Carr Conference championship game.

J. Percy Page (14), ME Lazerte (52)

Quarterback Lunden Larratt for Lazerte (3-1) would have a night completing 20/31 for 252 yards passing and 3 passing touchdowns on his way to leading his team to a 52-14 win over J. Percy Page (2-2).

ME Lazerte would open the scoring with nine points in the first quarter and would add another 21 before the end of the half. JPP would also put up seven points on their side with the score going into the half, 30-7.

No one would score any points for the third quarter, but Lazerte would get 22 points in the fourth and JPP would only be able to produce a 7 point drive to end with a score of 52-14 to ME Lazerte.

Running back for ME Lazerte, Watkis Jemanie would have 3 carries on 111 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns as well as 1 catch for 39 yards and 1 touchdown reception, and Skyler Cook would have 2 carries on 2 yards rushing and 1 rushing touchdown. Terron Fiddler would have 128 yards on 9 catches with 2 touchdown receptions on the night.

St. Joseph’s EDM (15), Holy Trinity EDM (15)

St. Joe’s (2-1) and Holy Trinity (2-0) would tie this one up, 15-15 this past weekend.

The score at the end of the first quarter was 7-6 for Holy Trinity. They would get only 1 more point for the first half with a score of 8-6 at the half. Holy Trinity would get another score in the third quarter, probably thinking that they had this one in the back at 15-6. But we all know, no lead is safe as St. Joseph would score 9 points in the fourth and Holy Trinity would score none, tieing up the game for a final.

Quarter back for Holy Trinity, Joe Tancsics, would complete 11/16 for 142 yards passing and 1 passing touchdown. He would also rush for 18 yards on 8 carries and 1 rushing touchdown. Receiver Joshua Ciascan would have 1 catch for 42 yards and 1 touchdown reception on the night. Defensively, Will Capo-Chichi would lead his team with 13 tackles, Amuri would register 8 tackles and 1 sack, and Mathew Obrigewitch and Cam Kleefman would each get 7 tackles apiece. Paul Spiess would also get a sack to his name.

Lillian Osborne (0), Fort Saskatchewan (30)

Fort Saskatchewan (4-0) would be up 23-0 at the half on their way to a 30-0 win over Lillian Osborne (1-3). They would score their last seven points in the fourth quarter for a 30-0 victory.

Western (15), Diefenbaker/Fowler (35)
