HMFA members honoured at Tiger Cats touchdown dinner

At Hamilton Place,  the Hamilton Tiger Cats celebrated its 3rd annual “Play Action” dinner.  The “Play Action” dinner is a fundraiser that puts money back into local grass roots football programs.

At this year’s event the HMFA were privileged to have to of our members receive recognition for their outstanding contribution to minor football in Hamilton

Rocky Dipetro Builders Award- Jim Gamble President HMFA.  For over 20 years Jim has tirelessly worked to grow minor football in the city of Hamilton.  Jim has been instrumental in growing the HMFA into what it has become today.  From the development of the Jr TiCats rep program to this past year working on amalgamating football in Hamilton with the Hamilton Ironmen Jim continues to work give kids in the greater Hamilton area the opportunity to play the ultimate team game.

The Les Brown Player Award is given to a local football player that demonstrates sportsmanship, leadership and dedication to the sport.

This year’s award was given to Leo Hernandez.  Leo has split his playing time between Niagara Region Minor Football Association and the HMFA.  Currently a member of the undefeated Bantam Jr. TiCats Leo continues to demonstrate all the qualities that have earned him this honor.  “Leo is the ultimate player to have on your team” says Leo’s first Rep Head Coach Dan Fournier.  “As a coach you often have to look for a go to player that understands the situation and is willing to contribute in any situation.  Leo is one of those players”
