HWMFA: Tiger-Cats win COMFL championship

The HWMFA Tyke 2 team won the COMFL ‘AA’ Championship on Saturday November 9 in Toronto at Esther Shiner Stadium.   The HWMFA Tyke 2 Tiger-Cats defeated the Twin Cities Purple Warhawks 18-13 in a fight to the finish, nail biter game!

JT Landry opened the scoring for the Tiger-Cats with a touchdown in the first quarter and again in the second.  Twin Cities replied with a touchdown in the second quarter, and the game was 12-6 at the half.

In the third quarter Twin Cities scored another touchdown and with the successful convert, they moved ahead 13-12 and the pressure was on!  The Tiger-Cat defense kept Twin Cities at bay for the rest of the game with big hits and great teamwork.  The Tiger-Cat defense caused a huge turnover with 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter leaving the Tiger Cats offense on the Twin Cities 20 yard line. After one first down, the Tiger-Cat offensive line opened up a hole and Riley Ferrell scampered for the winning TD on a QB keep.

Head Coach Jeff Ferrell said after the game that he couldn’t be more proud of his boys for all their hard work this season.  Congratulations HWMFA Tyke 2 Tiger-Cats.
