BLOG: Introduction

Football fans in Canada, my name is Rob Fry and I am beginning a series of postings that will cover a variety of relevant topics pursuant to the Canadian Football League.

I am a business graduate with a CFLPA certification in player representation. I have been representing players in the CFL for just over 2 years.  At this point in my career, I’ve worked with athletes who find themselves in different types of situations; undrafted free agent, rookie draft pick, veteran free agent, recent release from NFL.

As a relatively young agent, I’ve had the opportunity thus far to work with and learn a lot from different people who fill a variety of roles around football. This includes college and professional athletes, coaches, scouts, club front office staff, player agents, CFL and NFL office staff, and media members.

It is currently a very exciting time to be involved in football within Canada.  The game is growing immensely and with that, new impactful changes are going through the Canadian Football League.

To name a few, the following are recent things happening making the Canadian Football League even more exciting.

• New Stadiums
• New Draft and Eligibility Rules
• Ottawa Redblacks Expansion Draft
• New TV Deal
• New Collective Bargaining Agreement
• More Canadian Players Earning NFL Opportunities

Over the course of the next few months my goal is to share information about some of the most relevant CFL topics as well as to provide updates on information regarding Canadian NFL and CFL prospects.
