Jr. Argos head to playoffs

The Toronto Jr. Argos have locked up a playoff spot heading into the final week of the Onatrio Football Conference’s regular season. This past Sunday they beat the Guelph Bears 32-24 in what has been described by head coach Carlo Onorati as a, β€œVery exciting back and forth affair.”

The Jr. Argos have managed to do a complete 180 in just a single season. Last year’s 1-7 record has been wiped from fans’ minds as they are excited about the prospect of not only a playoff game, but a run to the championship after a 7-1 year.

The Jr. Argo offense was spearheaded by no. 1 Adam Adeboye, while the defense was led by no. 36 Steven Adjei.

The Jr. Argos are now preparing for the playoffs and their game against the Peterborough Wolverines. β€œWe have built a rivalry with Peterborough these last two years,” says Onorati. β€œWe are expecting a war to see who goes to the conference final. The real season starts now.”

The Jr. Argos will have two weeks to prepare for the match, a necessity for a team that has played eight straight weeks.

β€œPeterborough is a well-travelled team,” says Onorati. β€œWe expect to see our stands full for what will be an exciting game.”

The Jr. Argos will definitely have their hands full against the 5-3 Wolverines. The Jr. Argos beat them in a week 2 matchup in Peterborough 16-3.

The much anticipated playoffs will start on July 28th at St. Michael’s College Field.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
