Jr. Argos comeback thriller

The Junior Varsity Toronto Jr. Argos are at .500 after a close win this past weekend in Sudbury. The final score was a nail biting 36-35.

The first half was simply dominated by Sudbury as they led 35-6.

Second half, cue the comeback.

The third quarter started with Garth Pinnock scoring on a 65 yard run, then immediately followed by a Sudbury conceding a safety. Pinnock would prove to be Torontoā€™s best player on the day and was able to run the ball and make clutch catches. Sudbury head coach Kevin Garbuio said in an interview with the Sudbury Star that, ā€œPinnock is their best player. As a staff we tried not to let him beat us, but he kind of took over.ā€

The Jr. Argos took the lead thanks to a touchdown pass by Dylan Ormesher, and were able to hold the lead for the rest of the game.

With the win the Toronto Jr. Argos are now in eighth place in the OFC and boast a 2-2 record. Next week they will take on the Oakville Titans who are in 10th with a 1-3 record. The game will be this Sunday at 1:00PM in Oakville.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
