JV Ravens Soar Past Lions

The Essex Ravens came out of the gate flying ‘twice’ this past week against the Cambridge Lions, once on the opening kickoff, and once after a lengthy lightning delay. The Ravens would rolling over the Lions by a score of 35-15.

The Ravens would come out flying and took an early 14-0 lead, before the Lions would get on the board with a single to make it 14-1, a score that would hold until half time.

After a 90 minute lightning delay, the Ravens once again came out flying and would increase their lead to 28-1 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

The teams would trade scores early in the fourth as Essex increased the lead to 35-8. A late punt return for a touchdown by the lions would make it 35-15, and that’s as close as they would get.

Offensively the Ravens were led by fullback Nate Delaney who had 73 yards on 10 carries, and 3 touchdowns. Matthieu Pickens, and Jalen Jackson also chipped in with touchdowns for the Ravens.

Next up for the Junior Ravens will be the Etobicoke Eagles on Saturday June 29th, kickoff is at 3:30pm.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
