Minaker and Dixon named to GNAC All-Academic Team

PORTLAND, Ore. – Simon Fraser University defensive back Ben Minaker and receiver Dallas Dixon have been named to the 2018 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Football All-Academic Team.

Minaker, senior from Kelowna, carries a 3.52 cumulative grade point average as a Biomedical Physiology major while Dixon, a sophomore from Sherwood Park, AB, has a 3.51 GPA in Kinesiology.

Minaker ranks sixth on the team with 33 tackles in eight games as the Clan’s starting strong safety. Dixon has appeared in seven games and he has one catch.

The Clan is in action this Saturday, Nov. 3 on Terry Fox Field against Western Oregon. Kick-off is 1 PM.

Selections to the GNAC All-Academic Teams must be of sophomore standing or greater, be in their second year at the nominating school, have a minimum of a 3.38 cumulative grade point average on the 4.33 scale and be on the roster for their team the full season.

A total of 44 student-athletes were selected to the 2018 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Football All-Academic Team.

Next Home Game |  Tickets are on sale now for the Clan’s game vs Western Oregon on Nov. 3. Fans who purchase tickets online in advance will save money.  Tickets purchased online are $10 for adults and $5 for youth 14-and-under, visiting students & seniors. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for youth 14-and-under, visiting students & seniors when purchased at the gate. Children under 6 are admitted free.

Parking |  Free parking is offered with admission in the Visitor West Parkade or Visitor North during all varsity home events again this season using the varsity18 code at parking meters.
