It was a weekend to forget for the Junior Varsity Sarnia Sturgeons. The 2-0 Sturgeons headed into Hamilton looking to remain undefeated on the season. Unfortunately for the Sturgeons, they ran into a destructive Hurricane team who used their power to take out the Sturgeons 47-7. The Sturgeons are off next week before playing their home opener on the 23rd against the currently undefeated Burlington Stampeders. At the end of this week the Stamps have only allowed 14 points on the season.
Meanwhile in other Junior Varsity action the Forest City Thunderbirds outlasted the Brantford Bison to win the game 19-0. The 2-0 Thunderbirds havenβt allowed a point the entire season out scoring their opponents 49-0. The Thunderbirds will face off against a real test next week as they take on the 3-0 Burlington Stampeders.
In Senior Varsity action the Forest City Thunderbirds bounced back in a huge way defeating Brantford 57-0. The now 2-1 Thunderbirds will take on another 2-1 next week in the Burlington Stampeders, who also pitched a shutout defeating Niagara 45-0.
The Sturgeons hope to use the bye week to regroup, while both Thunderbird teams look to build on the successes of this week moving forward.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
