The 6’3″, 225lbs prospect took an interesting road to the NCAA with his high school career beginning at CFC50 Miller in Regina, SK. Eventually he made the journey to Ontario where he landed at St. Andre Bessette in London, then finally made the move to Clarkson Football North where he started earning attention down south playing a full American schedule.

Kalume had sporadic interest from Eastern Michigan, Buffalo, Central Michigan and Vanderbilt, but patience paid off with Canadian friendly Maine arriving to scoop him off the market.

The Black Bears are always one of the most active teams when it comes to Canadian signings, including CFC60 WR Rohan Jones out of Montreal, who will be joining Kalume on campus next season. Other Canadians who’ve signed with Maine in recent years include CFC100 TE Antonio Corsi, CFC100 OG Darius Bell, CFC100 LB Darius McKenzie, CFC60 DL Dorian Royal, CFC100 DB Katley Joseph and CFC60 DT Justin Sambu.

Kalume was also named to the 2020 CFC Prospect Game that was unfortunately not played due to the pandemic.
