It was a busy long weekend for NCAFA with games each day Wednesday through Monday. Hereβs a recap of some of last weekβs action.
TYKE (U11)
Anesu Latmore scored a 50 yard TD on the opening play as West Carleton topped Bel-Air 8-6.
Myers Riders had 2 games this week beating Bel Air 24-18 on Wednesday. On Saturday they lost to Kanata for the first time in 7 years. An 80 yard TD from Connor Ogilvie, plus 40 and 60 yard TDβs from Sutton Allard made the final 21β8.
Joey King scored all 3 TDβs for East Ottawa, but Canterbury RB Kevin Nsabua had 3 of his own. WR Baily Bazinet found the end zone as well. DB Hunter Nicolstis had an interception and forced fumble. Canterbury 32 – East Ottawa 18
MOSQUITO (U13)
Solid βDβ from The Generalsβ Jordan Labbe, Jayden Charbonneau, Steven Groves and Jamal Mavigna, but Canterbury wins 14-0.
Slow start for Myers, who came alive in the 3rd lead by Tyler Thompson. He threw 2 TDβs to Mark Straw, while Kyle Morley blocked, then recovered a punt. Riders 32 β Kanata 8.
Rickey Frigon had 2 TDβs. Adam Schertzer and Scott Waddell each had one. Bel Air 40, Wolverines 0.
PEE WEE (U15)
Riley Cressman had 200+ yards rushing and 3 TDβs. Carter Wilson had 9 tackles as West Carleton beat Bel-Air 28-8.
Rookie Tyler Lance had several long carries, but broke his collarbone late in the game as the Giants lost to the Vikings 32-6.
Aggressive βDβ and strong running games by Sean Edgecombe and Hunter King as the Myers Riders blanked Kanata 21-0.
BANTAM (U17)
Tackles by Justice Maci, Mitchell Graham and Sebby Mordak, and 2 QB sacks by Joey Belanger helped Kanata score a 10-7 OT win over Myers. Nick Gorgichuk got the winning FG. Riders TD was scored on a 110 yard punt return by Rouben Charles.
Dylan Bell threw 5 TDβs to 4 different receivers, including 2 to Jamahll Charles. Generals 41 – Canterbury 0.
After a tough 1st week loss, the Lions won 34-19 over West Carleton. QB Andrew Sneddon, who, despite a dislocated finger, threw 3 TDβs.
MIDGET (U20)
Defensive captain Zachary Hamilton set the tone, and the O-line made things easier for Matthew Chartier, Keith Wyman, Peterson Altimo and Nicholas Chapman. Each found the end zone as the Norsemen blank the Colts 29-0.
