NCAFA (Ottawa Minor): Week 4 report


Week 5 of the regular season for NCAFA is underway. Here are some highlights from last week’s action.

TYKE (Under 11)

Myers’ Natale Frangione scored on the first play. Brodie O’Connell, had an interception, but Bell wins 18-16.


On Wednesday, Nepean topped Kanata 57-38. Knights RB Connor Ogilvie had 205 yards rushing, 7 first downs and 3 TD’s. Jarod Wakeman recovered two fumbles. Redskins won again Saturday (40-6) vs. Bel Air.

TD’s by Dante Blizzard (2), Prince Inanzala, Jared Walker, Michael Slack, and 2 point converts by Alex Ferguson, were too much for East Ottawa. Raiders 46-Generals 0.

MOSQUITO (Under 13)

Nepean’s Stefano Federico scored on a 40 yard play, Jacob Spinella hit Jackson Dunning for a 45 yard TD, Kristian Beaulieu scored on a 55 yard interception. Redskins 22 – Lions 14

Tyler Astles ran 35 yards on the first play, setting up a TD from Dylan St. Pierre. Chris Dambrosio had two TD’s in South Gloucester’s 37-8 win over the Generals.

PEE WEE (Under 15)

Redskins’ Dawson Brown had two interceptions. Nepean 37, Lions 0.

South Gloucester remains undefeated. QB Justin Poitras found Paul Tamer, Skyler Alexander and Terrick Valcin for TD’s. Demitri Vaillancourt (2), Lascelles Lawrence and Daniel Obiang rushed for majors. Deion Kifung-Banze and Abdoul-kater Garba lead the D. Raiders 48. Generals 0.

Another multiple TD game for Julien Moore. Mustangs’ defense, have allowed 7 points in 3 games. Mustangs 25, Panthers 7.

BANTAM (Under 17)

A 70 yard return for The Wildcats in the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] opened the scoring. QB Lucas Sauve and Jeager Prot connected for 60 yards with 31 seconds remaining, but a 40 yard FG on the final play gave Cornwall the 10-8 win.

Myers Riders, lead by QB Costa Jones, got TD’s from Kory Morgan, Rouben Charles and Enzo Trunzo. Reilly Lefort and the defense helped beat Bell 41-0.

Two games for the Redskins last week. On Wednesday, Kanata won 15-8. Nick Gorgichuck had 82 yards rushing and a TD. Jeffrey Marcus ran 79 yards. On Saturday Nepean blanked the Lions 31-0. Josh Reyes had a 40 yard INT/TD.

Raiders’ Seb Poitras threw for 3 TD’s while Gary Lindo and C.J. Fagan had interceptions. Raiders 38 – Generals 8.

MIDGET (Under 20)

In Orleans, Nepean, lead by Ryan Weeks, Mackenzie Tommy and Ryan McNamee blanked the Bengals 14-0.

Adam Viola opened the scoring for Bel Air. TD’s for Keith Wyman (2), Matthew Chartier, Philippe Ste. Marie and Ronnie Wray, and 10 sacks for the defense. Norsemen 34 – Canterbury 21.
