NCAFA (Ottawa Minor): Week 9 report – Semi-finals this weekend

NCAFA’s semi-finals are this weekend; here are some highlights from lastĀ  weekend’s quarter-finals!

TYKE (Under 11)

Kane Obas, Sebastien Vienneau, Jared Valentino, and Jarod WakemanĀ  combined for over 32 tackles, while Connor & Adam Olgilvie scored 4Ā  TD’s and Simon Bricker added two more in Kanata’s 52-6 win overĀ  Cornwall.

Prince Inazala (2) and Jesse Assaf (1) scored for Gloucester in an 18-6Ā  win over Myers.Ā  Noah Gauthier, Derrick McKinley and Alex FergusonĀ  (interception) led the defense.

MOSQUITO (Under 13)

Ashton Vanasse, Garrett Kirk, Tyler Rehman, Brady Tran and Nevan CarterĀ  each found the end zone in Kanata’s 46-6 win over Cornwall.Ā  GavinĀ  Goyette, Scott Robinson, Sean Emond, Michael Kraeker and Dylan LachanceĀ  kept the Wildcats at bay.

Shubham Nayyar, who started the year on defense, had 3 TD’s and over 150Ā  yards rushing in Cumberland’s win over Nepean.Ā  Billy Froome alsoĀ  scored while Bryson Michael added 4 points on converts.Ā  Ben Dufour had 2Ā  sacks.

The Defense led the way with Jamal Mavinga, and LB Kanigan bothĀ  returning interceptions for TDs as East Ottawa blanked West CarletonĀ  20-0.

PEE WEE (Under 15)

Kyle King, Grant Moser, Amar Knight, and Duncan Miller amassed over 38Ā  tackles but it wasn’t enough as Canterbury beat Kanata 16-0. First yearĀ  player Patrick Heika had stellar ball recovery on punt attempt.

Cesare Patricelli punted through the end zone for a single in the dyingĀ  moments of the game as the South Gloucester Raiders beat the RidersĀ  15-14.Ā  Dimitri Vaillancourt and Lascelles Lawrence had rushingĀ  touchdowns, while Mostafa Kari, Quinlan Walker, Michael Franchina, DeionĀ  Kifung-Banze, andĀ  Will Karam stood out on defense.

The Bell Warriors got by the Gatineau Vikings 12-1 thanks to touchdownsĀ  from Jesse Skucas and Malcom Turgeon.Ā  Josh Bailey, Carson Assley, RobinĀ  Creighton and Nate Eisener held the Vikings to just a single point.

BANTAM (Under 17)

Kanata’s Jacob Nicholson kicked 168 total yards while John AllarieĀ  punted total of 158 yards.Ā  Mitchell Graham had 3 solo tackles, 5Ā  assisted, 1 fumble recovery and a batted ball in their 17-14 win overĀ  the Giants.

Myers got scoring from Costa Jones (1 rushing, 5 passing), Kory MorganĀ  (1 rushing), Rouben Charles (1 punt return, 1 receiving), Connor LisleĀ  (1 receiving), Joey Valentino (1 receiving), Enzo Trunzo (1 receiving)Ā  and Emir Oguz (1 receiving) in a 56-0 win over Cornwall.

Dylan Bell had 2 interceptions, returning one for a touchdown.Ā  RoryĀ  Monaghan and Stevenson Joseph also had interceptions while Stanley LodgeĀ  connected with Chad Ouellette on an 85 yard TD in East Ottawa’s 13-7Ā  win over West Carleton.
