Β Tyke
Outstanding team defense was the difference in the Myers Riders 18-6 win over the Gatineau Vikings as the Riders kept pace with the 8-0 Cumberland Panthers.
The Bell Warriors final game of the regular came to down to an exciting finish. A late 4th quarter run by tailback Nathaniel Lawor helped the Warriors tie the Orleans Bengals 25 to 25. Defense had played their most complete game as well. Max Johnston made some spectacular plays while defensive ends Shyreek Phillips and Eben Dibula continued to be a force to reckon with.
Mosquito
Despite a strong effort rushing by Christopher Jelley and receiving by Terry MacFarlane, Myers Riders fell 25-18 to the Gatineau Vikings. Twins Kai and Wei Du led the Riders defensively with several key tackles.
The Cumberland Panthers played a well-balanced game on both sides of the ball versus the Bel-Air Lions. The defence played tough and kept the ball in the oppositions end for most of the game. The offense mixed their plays up with rushing TD’s by Logan Ferry and Wesley Bailey and throwing TD’s to Sahil Sharma and Kodey Williamson. Final score 26-6 for the Cumberland Panthers.
The Bell Warriors fought off a tough Orleans Bengals squad to finish the regular season with a perfect undefeated record. James Keenan, quarterback for the Warriors, showed great poise as he lead his injury riddled offence to a 28 to 18 victory.
Peewee
The Bel-Air Lions played Myers Riders on the weekend and despite some strong play from Eugene Kanku and Scott Waddell the Bel-Air offence was frustrated much of the day by a strong Myers defence. Defensively the Lions had a strong game especially in the Red Zone with numerous clutch goal line stands. The Defence was paced by a couple extremely strong performances from Kevin Touissant and Devin Styles but Myers came away with the 38-0 win.
In yet another rain-soaked game the Bel-Air Lions played the Cumberland Panthers in a hard fought game. Bel-Air fell 25-6 despite some strong defensive efforts from Liam Pacquette and Nick Cunnington-Bourbonniere who each recorded an interception. Offensively the Lions were paced by a touchdown from Devin Styles and some tough rushing yards from Andrew Esdon.Β  The Panthers got strong rushing from Shubham Nayyer, rushing TD’s from Nic Renaud and Dylan Chamoun and passing TD’s from Alex Lawrie to Owen McLaughlin and Farhan Younus.Β  Great defence from Nathaniel Brady, Nathan Amesbury, Matthew Madore, Josh Earle, Francis Coulombe, Matthew Byrne and Quinn Nadon-Stencil shut down the Bel-Air offence.
The Bell Warriors powered their way through the rain to a 56β€”0 defeat of the Orleans Bengals. The win gave the Bell Warriors Pee Wee club their 3rd straight West Division title.
Bantam
The Myers Riders completed an 8-0 regular season with a 29-7 victory over the Cumberland Panthers. Luke Rawling and Joey Mckiernan had rushing TDs for the Riders, while Reed Adams and Marco Trunzo had TD receptions from QB Dimitri Morand.
The Bell Warriors came out on top of the Orleans Bengals winning 34-0 in a rain-soaked battle. The win put the Warriors record at 7 and 1. It was a day tailored for running backs. All six scores by the Warriors were on the ground. Michael Hoecht ran in his first of the year. Perennial mainstay Jesse Skucas ran in 3 TD’s and Charlie Keenan crossed the line twice. Warrior QB Tyler Scott scored the remaining 4 points with his strong kicking.
Midget
Bel-Air Norsemen defeated Nouvelle Frontier by a score of 36 – 0, with QB Josh Keenan leading the offense. We can’t forget the DLine, Jesse Suchorab had 8 assisted and 6 solo tackles, 2 batted balls and 1 QB sack. Brandon Noel added 3 assists, 1 batted ball and 1 fumble recovery.
