It was another outstanding performance for the East Ottawa Generals defence, who won 38-26 over the Gloucester South Raiders. Quinn Gilchrist, Will Conway and Noah Porter-McLellan were all instrumental in another Generals victory.
The underdog South Ottawa Mustangs led by captains Damir Rimad, Benit Murhula, Alex Dalipaj, Riddick Hagley and Jose Nolaxca showed amazing determination in knocking off the previously unbeaten Orleans Bengals 31-12 with an inspiring team effort. Adrian Ghattas was a key performer on offence with Chris Kachi, Jamison Cop and Aidan Wallace-Blackett on defence.
Keelor Goffin made a huge tackle to give the Bell Warriors a second OT opportunity in a 12-6 loss to the Nepean Redskins. Robert Demers caused 2 fumbles and made several key tackles. Alex Bouchard and Luka Jovic of the D-line also had standout efforts. Yanis Iloki scored on a 30-yard run in OT for Nepean. The touchdown was set up by an interception by Nick Boschetti. Keegan Bertrand, who had 62 yards on 10 carries for the Redskins, also scored on a 44-yard run.
The Cumberland Panthers defeated the Cornwall Wildcats 44-18. The Panthers went ahead early on the scoreboard with 4 TD runs split between Dante Spadaccini and Eleijah Zamor. The second half was just as exciting with TDβs by Jordan Earle, Dante Spadaccini, Jacob Coulombe, and a 2 point convert by Matt Baptiste.
Liam Carreiro scored 2 touchdowns as the Bel-Air Lions lost to the West Carleton Wolverines26-12. Tyler Aboulay was outstanding on defence.
Mosquito
The Myers Riders won 45-6 over the Kanata Knights.Β Myers defence was led by Parker Lynds, Callum Spinnewyn and Matteo Milito who had an INT return for a TD. The offense was led with TDs by Noah Bascelli, Zach Thompson and the strong running of Andrew Wyers.
The Bell Warriors best defensive effort of the season was led by John Lubemba who scored an interception TD in a 14-0 victory over the Nepean Redskins. The Warriors had outstanding performances by Torin Theriault, Shyreek Phillips, JΓ©rΓ©my ParΓ©, Ethan Ryan, Trey O’Brien, Manny Akol and Eben Dibula. Offensively there was a precise TD pass by Nolan Harris to Kyle Crabtree to give the Warriors the win. Haven Holder had 61 yards rushing for the Redskins, while John Furano had six tackles and an interception for Nepean.
Stephane Tshishimbi had his 5th punt return TD of the season in a 48-14 Bel-Air Lions win over the West Carleton Wolverines and a strong line by Bryson Mulready, Schneider Cave, Issac Ombotimbe, Tyler Closter and Clarissa Davidson. Despite an overwhelming size disadvantage, the offence held the fort with a big effort by Markus Olivieri, Matthew Goodwin and Kelly Paquette. Strong support by Max Wong and Wesley Tshimanga.Β Bryce Russell the gun slinger threw well and avoided heavy pressure by the Wolverines
The Cumberland Panthers QB Christian VeilleuxΒ threw 3 TD passes en route to a convincing 81-0 win over the Cornwall Wildcats. Nine different players scored majors as the balanced attack saw 200 yards passing as well as 300 yards rushing. Defence dominated and also added a punt return TD by LB Devon Canning.
Pee Wee
Kaelan Fyfe had been a leader all year for the Gatineau Vikings on defence and against the North Gloucester Giants he sparked the team with an INT on the 20 and returning it for a TD in a 41-3 victory.Β His 2nd INT of the game was made at mid-field and returned to the Giants 5 yards line.Β He also stripped the ball carrier on a kickoff and ran it in for a TD. Honourable mention to Gabriel Laplante for a pick 6 from the Giants 10 yard line.
The Bell Warriors overcame a scoreless first half to win 20-6 over a tough Nepean Redskins squad. Key INTs on defence by Tyler Brohman and Demar Welsh were key turning points to the victory. Liam Kennedy tossed a 26-yard touchdown to Sam Morency for the lone Nepean score. Kennedy finished the game with 166 yards passing. Honoreal Iloki had 117 yards rushing for the Redskins, while fullback Nic Sayah caught three passes for 97 yards and had a 61-yard kick-off return.
A great game by the Bel-Air offence led by QB Dany Lakusa and the ever strong running of JP Ciminkinda permitted the Lions to move to 7-0 with a 60-13 victory over the West Carleton Wolverines. With solid offensive performances by Johnny Mena Garcia, Eugene Kanku and Joey Bak the Lions were able to move the ball against a fiesty Wolverine defence. On defence, with the absence of Connor Williams with a season ending injury, the Lions continued to stop almost everything thrown at it with great games by Liam Paquette, Jamal Boyce, Alex Arbour and Zack Drisdale.
Myers Riders defeated the Kanata Knights 48- 7.Β Defenders Thabiso Bakelaar and Brad Trick shut down Kanata’s run game while Β A.J. Oickle-Joyce was an offensive leader thanks to great pass and run blocking by rookie offensive lineman Teghveer Bal.
