The Pickering, ON native finished his high school career at Peddie School in New Jersey, and spent his first three years of eligibility at New Hampshire before transferring to West Virginia for the 2019 season. He sat out the 2019 season due to transfer eligibility requirements but showed it was worth it with his elite 2020 performance where he earned himself All-Big 12 second team. He returned for one last year as a Super Senior last season recording 73 tackles, and started all 23 appearances he made during his Mountaineers career.
Addae was selected 13 overall by the Ottawa REDBLACKS in the 2021 CFL Draft.
