OBIT: Don, Spencer Edwards gone too soon (GOFUNDME page)

It is with heavy hearts we have to report the passing of Don Edwards and son Spencer.Ā  Both were killed in a car accident on Highway 6 near the city of Hamilton yesterday.Ā  Spencer recently ended his playing career and was beginning to coach.Ā  Don, involved in football for many, many years…coaching, administrating, writing, announcing…you name it, Don probably did it.

We at CFC were fortunate enough the last few years for Don’s contribution journalistically.Ā  His style, and coverage of grass roots football teams and topics, will be greatly missed.Ā  Both Don and Spencer recently coached in the Fox 40 Prospect Challenge.Ā  Our condolences to the family.

On Wednesday, October 31, 2018, Don & Spencer were tragically killed in a car accident. Both Don & Spencer were generous, kind-hearted, “old” souls who were always there to help others whenever they were needed. Their passion for life, and all things football will not soon be forgotten. In this incredibly difficult time, we are coming together in whatever way we can to help Deb & Katie. Being part of a small community is a wonderful gift, and we hope that this small gesture will ease some of the cost of the funerals, etc. All donations big and small will help. Thank you
