Sam Stambene passed away earlier this week as was announced on social media in the football community in the Calgary area.
Coach Stambene was the Sports Performance teacher and coach at St. Francis High School in Calgary for over 16 years. He also taught at Bow Valley School in Cochrane and George McDougall High in Airdrie prior to his tenure at St. Francis. He coached all levels of football from Peewee to Bantam to high school.
Our thoughts go out to family and friends, and all who were impacted by this longtime coach and mentor.
