OFC: Bantam Cougars move on to South Division Final

The Chatham-Kent Cougars Bantam boys advanced to the South division final in the OFC with a convincingΒ 42-13Β winΒ over the Burlington Stampeders at CK on Sunday.Β  The Cougars broke open a close game after halftime by scoring 4Β consecutive TD’s to put the game away.Β 

With the help of a dominate offensive line Darion Bacik led the Cougars with 3 rushing TD’s. Evan Torres threw 2 TD passes to Bennett Schaffer andΒ Nakoma Scott ran for the other Cougar TD. Quinton Emerick rounded out the scoring with 6 converts.
The Cougars used an aggressive, attacking, swarmingΒ defense to shut down the high powered passing game of Burlington. The defense was led by Darwin Mitchell, Quinton Emerick and Tyler Symanski, who had an interception. Dante Handsor recoveredΒ a fumble.Β 
Next up for the Cougars is a showdown with the undefeated Hamilton Tiger-cats at Ron Joyce Stadium in Hamilton on Sunday, July 7.
