OFC: JV Jr. Argo coaching update

This is an update to last week’s junior varsity Toronto Jr. Argonauts’ article in which it was reported that head coach Derek McDonald would not be returning back next season.
The Toronto Jr. Argos organization wish to publish the following statement:

β€œThe Toronto Jr. Argos would not β€œlet go” a volunteer. All of our coaches are volunteers and we appreciate them donating their time to the program. The Toronto Jr. Argonauts strive to provide a safe, educational and fun environment on and off the field for both players and coaches… (We) would like to emphasize that (we) do not fire our head coaches and we feel that there has been a misunderstanding regarding out JV head coach leaving the organization.

Determined to put our players in the best position to compete, (we) asked our former head coach to work with another coach to formulate a fresh offensive strategy for an upcoming playoff game. Our head coach (McDonald) resigned July 16th prior to practice. The organization was sorry to see him go and wishes him the best of luck with his future endeavors.”

The JV Toronto Jr. Argos will be facing off against Peterborough this weekend to kick off the 2013 OFC playoffs. The Jr. Argos have struggled against the league’s best losing to them twice this regular season. You can watch them play this upcoming Saturday afternoon in Peterborough.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
