OFC: JV Toronto Jr. Argos keep win streak alive against Huronia

The JV Toronto Jr. Argonauts beat the Huronia Stallions last Sunday 42-35.

The game started off with both teams trading touchdowns in the first half. The game remained close as No. 1, a wide receiver for Huronia, scored three touchdowns of his own to keep the Stallions in it.

The Jr. Argos proved too strong for the Stallions as quarterback Treyion Charles threw a great game, and made a few runs of his own. Running back Isiah Hibbert followed suit, making several great runs and returning a kick for a touchdown.

On the defensive side, defensive end No. 54 Alex Simmons dominated the line of scrimmage the entire game.

The Jr. Argos needed to win this past week in order to keep their hopes of a home playoff game alive.

Huronia who were seen as the underdogs heading into the game, played exceptionally well. β€œTheir intensity is something we hope to mimic in the coming games” says head coach Carlo Onorati.

Next week, the Jr. Argos face off against the Burligton Stampeders (’97) in the final game of the 2012 regular season. β€œWe need to play four complete quarters against Burlington”, says Onorati. The team needs to play a great game and β€œkeep that ever so important momentum going into the playoffs”.

The game will take place in Burlington on July 22ndΒ at 10:00 AM.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
