OFC makes bigs changes, becomes very different league

"1959-2009" 50 Years of OFC Football

The Ontario Football Conference (OFC) recently voted to increase its age limit for the upcoming 2014 Junior season to the ages of 24 and under (previously 22 and under).

The decision to increase the age limit by two years was initially presented during the OFC’s Annual General Meeting in Toronto, and was unanimously approved by each of the member teams.

Beginning in 2014, the OFC teams will be permitted to carry a specified number of 23-year olds and 24-year olds on each of their rosters.

The increase of the age limit for players in the OFC will allow for a greater number of participants to compete at a higher level of football, therefore providing additional opportunities for players to hone their skills and better prepare themselves for a potential career in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

It should also be noted that the other two conferences (BCFC, PFC) in the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) will not be increasing their age limits at this time. The OFC will remain as an affiliate member of the CJFL, but all inter-conference championship games are now on hold until further notice.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
