OFC OVFL Game of the Week Preview: Battle of Toronto

The varsity Metro Toronto Wildcats couldn’t come up with a win this past weekend against a stout Ajax-Pickering Dolphins team and have fallen to 1-1 on the season. Β The Dolphins won the gameΒ 29-20.

The Wildcats defense have relied on both Trevelle Wisdom and Deshawn Stephens Each player has registered over 12 solo tackles. Wisdom also has an interception this season.

Offensively, the Wildcats is splitting time between quarterbacks Brett Stein and Gregory Dossett, both of whom are having success under centre.

This weekend, the Wildcats will take on their inter-city rival and undefeated Scarborough Thunder squad.

β€œI think we match up well on paper with Thunder, but we have to prove it on the field,” said Head Coach Russ Hoff, ”Thunder is an aggressive team on both sides of the ball and it is tough to keep them contained.”

Hoff offered that the team who protects the football and limits mental errors will win this game.

β€œThey are undefeated and they will be fighting hard to stay that way”, said Hoff.

However, the Wildcats Β will be trying to change that.

The Wildcats play visitor to their Toronto rivals, the Scarborough Thunder this Saturday at 3pm at Mary Ward Catholic School.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
