OFC semi-finals set (SCHEDULE)

The top seeds have both advanced to the semi-final round of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) Varsity Playoffs.

In the Doug Dittmer Conference, the Hamilton Hurricanes (8-0) advanced to the next round after thrashing the Guelph Bears 61-7.  On Friday August 2nd, the Hurricanes will host the third ranked Burlington Stampeders (6-2) at St. Thomas More.  Kickoff is 8:00pm.  The Stampeders punched their ticket to the semi-finals after eliminating the second seeded Twin Cities Predators 31-13.

As for the Mike Ramsay Conference, the top ranked Huronia Stallions (7-0) knocked off the fourth seeded Oakville Titans 34-12 to make it into the semi-finals.  Now, the team will host the third seeded Peterborough Wolverines (5-3) on Saturday August 3rd at Barrie Sports Complex.  Game start is 3:00pm. The Wolverines earned their spot after edging the second seeded Toronto Jr. Argos 31-23.

In the junior varsity division semi-finals, the top ranked team in the Doug Dittmer Conference, Burlington Stampeders (7-0) will host the second seeded Hamilton Hurricanes (6-1) on Sunday August 4th at Nelson Stadium.  Kickoff is 1:00pm. The other semi-final will pit the top ranked team in the Mike Ramsay Conference, Peterborough Wolverines  (8-0) against the second seeded North Halton Crimson Tide (7-1).  The playoff location and start time for this game was yet to be determined at press time.
