Junior Varsity Burliington Stampeders receive high school honours

Four junior Varsity Burlington Stampeders were recognized for their athleticism at Nelson High School’s annual sports banquet.

Defensive back Ben Lack was awarded Most Improved Player, halfback Jake Mitchell was named Toughest Player, and wide receiver Michael Lehmann was selected for Leadership as well as Junior Athlete of the Year. Additionally Quinn Pritchard received MVP honours as well.

All four players have been dedicated to Burlington Minor Football program for many years playing in both the fall and summer Stampeders’s squads.

Meanwhile, the junior varsity Stampeders are 2-0 with impressive stats –  three passing touchdowns, an interception, 474 rushing yards,138 receiving yards and 42 kick/punt yards.

Dedicated to leadership, improvement, and discipline both on and off the field, these players set the standards very high.

A regular routine of working out at SST (Sports Specific Training) including participation in running clinics has kept Lehmann fit and dedicated.

The pipeline between the Lords and Stampeders runs deep.  Varsity coach Randy Hoffner, has been with the senior Lords coaching staff for several years.  junior varsity Lords Coach, Randy Lewis, is a Burlington Minor Football board member as well as an excited Stampeders fan.

For the Stampeders, it is all about relationships, building the numbers and bringing out the best talent Burlington has to offer.

With a bye week behind them, both Stampeders’ teams will be entering into Week 4 boasting undefeated records.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
