The game was a rematch from week three, when the Wild narrowly beat the Jr. Argos 23-20. The underdog Jr. Argos were able to take advantage of the overconfident Wild to get their much needed win.

The season might have been a losing one but several Jr. Argo players went on to have a statistically great year.Ā Ā Newly acquired quarterback Chris Sharanewych had a stellar first season with the Jr. Argos as he landed in fourth place among passers in the OFC. He threw for 1168 yards, nine TDs and had a respectable 40 percent passer completion rate.

Probably Sharanewychā€™s deadliest weapon this season was wide receiver, no. 84 Nathaniel Rouse. Rouse had a spectacular season not only leading the Jr. Argos but the OFC itself. He finished first overall among receivers with 38 catches, 683 yards and nine TDs. He also finished fifth among scoring leaders, and fourth among kick returners.

It was not just the offense who had a solid 2012 summer season. Lamar Foyle picked up the third place slot for the most tackles in the OFC with 38, while linebacker Michael Moore finished in fifth with 34 tackles.

On special teams, it was no. 15 Anthony Iafrate who, despite a minor injury, finished in sixth place for punting 855 gross yards and was five for eight for field goals.

Although many players had a great season, no. 4 Thomas Sabastiano was the only 2012 summer Jr. Argo player to sign to play for a CIS school. Although he did not have a great season for the Jr. Argos this summer (the linebacker only tallied one tackle) he remained a leader for the team. Sabastiano will play for the University of Toronto this fall.

Head coach Frank Trentadue remains proud of his players. Hopefully next season with Toronto Jr. Argos will be able to improve and have a more successful season.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
