OVFL JV: Junior Ravens Run over Mustangs
The Essex Junior Ravens had little trouble getting their vaunted rushing attack going Saturday as the team rushed for an impressive 304 yards en route to a 36-20 win over the London Mustangs.
The Mustangs came out strong to take an early 7-0 lead. The Ravens responded by scoring 21 unanswered points.
At halftime, the Ravens led 21-7.
The game would remain tight until the fourth quarter, when the Ravens scored 15 points in over a 7 minute span. The team held on to a 36-20 victory.
Once again, Matthieu Pickens led the way with 10 carries for 128 rushing yards. Nate Delaney had 10 carries for 67 rushing yards, Chris Tannous had 13 carries for 67 rushing yards and two touchdowns while Brody Quinn had 7 carries for 42 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
The Ravens will battle the Hamilton Ironmen on Saturday July 13th. Kickoff is at 2:00pm.
