OFL announces expansion in 2016

The Ontario Football League is pleased to announce a major expansion to our 2016 fall season.  This year we have taken a step closer in unifying minor fall football in Ontario.  The OFL has been committed to operating a tiered league format that not only offers an outlet for high level competition football but we also feature a minor development division that is focused more on fun and learning.

“What makes us different from other leagues is that we are inclusive to all sanctioned centers and we focus on both the competition and the development side of our game.  In recent years the focus has solely been on rep level and minor development has seen a decline.  Our belief is that without a strong developmental program you will not have a successful rep program” – Dan Fournier President Ontario Football League

The OFL now consists of 15 centers throughout Ontario and has over 55 teams participating this fall with ages from 6 to 14.  For more information please visit our website at www.ontariofootballleague.com

The OFL are pleased to welcome the Niagara Generals to our league for the 2016 season.  The Generals play out of St.Catharines Ontario and will be fielding teams in Tyke, Atom Rep, Pee Wee Rep and Bantam Rep.

The OFL would like to formally welcome the MOB for the upcoming 2016 Season.  In the past few years members of the Mississauga Football League, Oakville Titans and Burlington Minor Football Association formed a minor development program from tyke through bantam.  This league focused on football skills development and used fair play rules to ensure players and families in their area had a safe and organized introduction to football.  This group will participate in our MD division and will form the Eastern division.  The “MOB” shares the OFL commitment to minor development programing and we are thrilled to have their expertise and organizations joining with us.

The Ontario Football League is pleased to welcome the TNT Express for the 2016 season.  TNT will be entering a Pee Wee team for this season with plans on expanding to more age groups for the 2017 season.
