OL Sinclair looking to get back to the Subway Bowl

Jeremy Sinclair (74)

Winning the AA Provincial Championship in 2015 was “an amazing experience” for offensive lineman, tight end, and linebacker, Jeremy Sinclair. Going on his tenth year of playing on the gridiron, Sinclair has been awarded the BC Subway Bowl Most Outstanding Lineman as well as the Windsor Dukes Most Outstanding Lineman.

“I’m looking forward to making a run in playoffs and hopefully getting some good wins,” Sinclair mentioned when thinking about this upcoming season. The Dukes play in the AA Western Conference in the British Columbia Football league. Last season, they made it to the quarterfinals, but lost to G.W Graham and did not move on – something that this young lineman is ready to rectify.

Developing a passion for the football at a young age has allowed Sinclair to hone in on his craft and his hard work has paid off as he recently represented Team BC in the Canada Cup and also attended the Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (FPC) – West Coast in it’s inaugural year.

“At the Fox 40 (FPC), I think my combine results have to be some of the best there with my speed and size,” he recalled. And while he doesn’t model his game after anyone in particular, he has some strong future goals of going to a post secondary institute and continuing on with his football and academic career.

In order to get there, it helps when there is a program and/or programs that knock on your door. Sinclair said the recruiting process is starting to take off for him going into his senior season. As a freshman at his new school, he is looking to do whatever is needed in order to earn his spot.

“My expectations as a freshman is that I will be able to get some time on the field as a special teams player or whatever I’m needed at,” he explained. “I think I’ll be a very successful athlete at the next level. I think I’m work ethic and my athletic ability will take me to where I wanna be.”

Football means a lot to this young athlete. He grew up on the sport and it is something that he doesn’t want to end anytime soon. In order to carry on with the successes he has had, his Dad and coaches will continue to shape and mentor Sinclair for yet another season.

“My dad has a big influence on me as well as my high school coach, Jim Schuman,” he commented. “Coach Schuman puts a lot of time into the football program and help every player individually become better players and people.”
