Benjamin Ahren has only been playing football for two years.

His first year was in 2015 with the Brampton Bulldogs in the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

“[It] was pretty tough, but training hard and worked hard which is why I am where I am today,” said Benjamin.

His goals for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) are to be a huge contribution to the Halton-Peel team and gain as much as learning experience as he can to benefit him for the future.

During the offseason, Benjamin trains every chance he gets and every time he does not see snow on the ground.

“I constantly have a football in my possession and I also try to work out when I can,” added Benjamin.

Moreover, on the field the Bulldog looks up to the Edmonton Eskimos’ Ryan Hinds because he has motivated Benjamin personally and has pushed him to accomplish things that he would not have thought of accomplishing.

Hinds helps to give Benjamin hope and his motivational speeches at the Bulldog’s high school really inspire him.

“I love to play football because the sport inspires me,” explained the Bulldog. “It allows me to show my athletic ability and speed and the feeling of winning is just one of a kind.”

“I also love being a part of the brotherhood that is a football team.”
