Nick Samis has been playing football for about seven years, and each year has brought him an award for either Defensive MVP or Rookie of the Year.

The linebacker’s current team is the North Halton Crimson Tide in the Ontario Football Conference (OFC), and his current high school is Georgetown District.

“My goals in the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) game is to contribute to a strong defence and the major goal by the end of OPC is the get noticed by all different universities and get some offers because I want to play university football,” said Nick.

He is also aiming to make the CFC 100 list, but would love to be in the top 40 for defence.

During the offseason, Nick works out five to six times a week at his local gym to get stronger and faster.

The linebacker has also attended some 7 on 7 football camps associated with Sport Specific Training (SST) to work on his technique in the sport.

Moreover, the Crimson Tide also does offseason training in a local dome, along with some CrossFit.

On the field, Nick looks up to Ray Lewis because of the type of game he played, being physical, tough, his leadership skills, and the motivation he gave his team and players from around the league.

“This made him a great player in the NFL,” commented Nick, “also the success he had being in the league for such a long time and playing such a physical position.”

The linebacker loves football because it is a great team sport and he has learned how to be a good leader in the role of defence captain.

“I enjoy bringing enthusiasm, calling plays and from playing football I have got to know a lot of people,” added Nick.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
