Nik Lamont has played for the Halton Cowboys for six years.

Nik also plays for his high school team, the St. Ignatius of Loyola Hawks, where he won a Tier 2 championship in his Grade 10 year as a defensive captain.

That season, he also won Defensive MVP and was named the Jr. Male Athlete of the Year.

Moreover, the Hawk played for Team Ontario at the Football Canada Cup last year and won a silver medal.

“My goals at the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) would be to start, have a really good game and have scouts notice me,” said Nik, who has the CFC100 on his list of goals.

During the offseason, he does field work in the morning from on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Those evenings he then uses the school’s weight room.

On the field, his idol is his dad because he has always driven Nik to be his best.

On the professional level, his role model is JJ Watt because of not only the great things he does on the field, but what he does off of it as well.

“Football has been a part of my life since I can remember and it’s a way for me to excel in an area,” commented Nik.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
